I just got an e-mail from my uncle, with an attachment from my oldest cousin talking about his recent deployment to Iraq. (He saves people's lives and stuff.) Strange, because I was not even aware that my cousin was in the National Guard, or Army Reserves, or whatever it is that gets you sent to Iraq these days.
The battle for Polish mobile phone company PTC sort of reminds me of something from Charles Dickens.

Oh, wicked! I finally got the phone number of the new racecar driver who's the next economy minister of Slovakia. How incredibly cool is that? I'm being sarcastic.
Actually, I have a funny little story about a government minister in a country about the size of Slovakia. Hang in there, I'll tell you later.

I've had the song "Little Red Corvette" stuck in my head since I was eight years old, but only recently did it occur to me that the first line makes absolutely no sense.
"I guess I shoulda known by the way you parked your car sideways that it wouldn't last." Huh?
Last night I was at a flatwarming party where somebody suggested this meant the girl was one of those obnoxious people that parallel parks so the car takes up two spaces, so no other cars could come near it.
